Terms and conditions (Amended: 8.02.2022)

(We) = (Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD)
(you) = (The client)
(your) = (The client)

1. Quotations

  1. All prices quoted are estimates based on the scope of work as detailed in the quotation. Final pricing may vary due to unforeseen circumstances or additional work required to ensure a correct and safe installation. Any changes to the estimated price will be communicated and agreed upon in writing before proceeding with the additional work.

  2. If you have a cheaper like-for-like quote, we will try our best to beat it, provided we receive a copy of the quotation you intend us to beat. Discounts are at the discretion of Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD and can be declined for any reason.

  3. If you require a certain level of protection as specified by you or your insurance company, this must be declared before the quotation is issued.

  4. All quotations are valid for 30 days only, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD.

  5. Any additional work or changes to the scope of work will result in additional costs, which must be agreed upon in writing before the work continues.

2. Payments

  1. Payments must be finalized on completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing and signed by Nathan Siddall, company director, to be valid. Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD remains the legal owner of any systems installed or supplied until full payment has been made by you. We reserve the right to remove or disconnect any unpaid equipment.

  2. A deposit of up to half of the quotation cost may be required before work commences.

  3. If you change your mind, deposits are non-refundable, and you must pay for any work carried out up until the time you notify us of your wish to cancel in writing.

  4. We accept card, cash, and BACS payments. Please note there is a 5% charge for card payments.

  5. Payments overdue by 30 days will incur interest at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate. Interest will be applied daily from the date the payment was due until payment is received in full. Overdue payments may be passed on to our debt recovery team, with any additional fees associated with their services passed on to you. Systems and equipment may be recovered if owned by Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD during this process. Once our debt recovery team is instructed to take action, additional fees are unavoidable.

  6. We reserve the right to decline our services to you should you miss or make a late payment.

  7. For larger projects, partial payments may be required for completed phases of work. A small retention payment may be held back until the final sign-off, providing additional leverage to ensure final payment.

3. Installation

  1. Work areas must be kept clear of people, animals, and valuable or fragile objects to avoid accidents and injuries at all times. All work areas should be cleared by the customer before work begins.

  2. Drilling will be required to carry out installations.

  3. Access to the property is required to carry out works. If we incur any waiting time or delays beyond our control, such as no access to the property, additional charges at the current hourly rate will be chargeable. We must be notified of any restrictions 24 hours before to avoid charges. If we attend and are not given access to your property, our call-out rate still applies.

  4. The work is for the quotation only. Any additional work must be quoted for separately unless otherwise agreed by Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD in writing.

  5. Your estimated time of work completion is an estimate only. Work time can vary if necessary to accommodate changes to the job, business-related events, and other company-related issues.

  6. Cables will be surface run using a staple gun or clips unless otherwise quoted for and clearly stated.

  7. You are responsible for any lifting and reinstatement of floorboards and carpets. Any decorating or making good is the responsibility of you, the client.

  8. Installations may vary in specification to achieve a safe and correct installation.

  9. Electrical connections may be made via a plug top. We recommend consulting an electrician regarding a more permanent connection, the costs of which are to be paid by you, the client.

  10. Any damages must be brought to our attention before any system is handed over and/or payment is finalized. We cannot accept any damages brought to our attention after work completion.

  11. The client is responsible for ensuring that the work area is prepared and accessible according to the requirements outlined in the quotation. Any delays or additional costs incurred due to the work area not being prepared will be charged to the client at the prevailing hourly rate.

  12. The client is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits, approvals, or consents required for the installation of the systems. The client must ensure that the installation area is structurally sound and suitable for the intended installation. Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD shall not be liable for any delays or additional costs resulting from the client's failure to meet these responsibilities.

4. Warranties

  1. 1-year warranties apply only to items installed or supplied by Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD from the date of order. The warranty does not cover any environmental, electrical, accidental, or intentional damage, poor care, or external influences such as lightning strikes, fire, or floods. Any evidence found to suggest this could result in the warranty or maintenance being terminated with immediate effect.

  2. Warranty does not cover any serviceable or wear-and-tear parts and covers equipment failures only.

  3. The warranty provided is contingent upon the client following Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD’s recommended maintenance schedule. Failure to maintain the system as advised may void the warranty.

  4. Clients with an active service or maintenance agreement will benefit from extended warranty coverage and reduced call-out fees for maintenance and repairs not covered under the warranty.

5. Remote Viewing and Monitored Systems

  1. Remote viewing requires a ‘Static IP address.’ You, the client, understand that your router might have a ‘Dynamic IP address,’ which can often change, causing the configuration of any remote viewing to be inaccessible. You also understand that to obtain a ‘Static IP address,’ you may need to contact your internet provider and request this at a possible charge.

  2. To enable remote viewing, your router has to be ‘Remotely accessed,’ meaning your router can be accessed worldwide. Although passwords and information are not shared or noted down, you understand that security can be at risk and that you should get an antivirus with internet access protection and consult an IT specialist.

  3. You understand that you need a good 3G/4G/5G, Wi-Fi, or internet connection to access your system remotely.

  4. If you have a 3G/4G/5G router installed to access your system remotely, you understand that you are responsible for ensuring data is ‘Topped up’ on the SIM card. Failing to do this will make your system inaccessible remotely.

  5. You understand that if your system is connected to a ‘busy’ router, you might not be able to view your system while heavy traffic is passing through the router.

  6. You understand that mobile applications recommended to you or chosen by you to view your system are not the responsibility of Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD.

  7. Remotely monitored systems may rely on the property's internet or phone line connection or 3G/4G/5G routers, and it is your responsibility to keep this correctly operating and maintained.

  8. Call-out fees apply for any internet or app-related faults, as these are not controlled or maintained by Rhino Fire and Security Systems LTD.

6. Fire Alarms

  1. You understand that Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD holds no responsibility in the event of an alarm failing to operate. All alarms are tested and inspected after installation for correct operation and documented. Regular testing and inspection may help to detect a faulty or failed device. We recommend taking out a maintenance contract or service plan to have your system regularly tested to help identify any defective parts.

  2. You must not move or alter the system in any way; all alterations must be carried out by Rhino Fire & Security Systems LTD.

  3. You understand that the system may not operate if damaged and that this could put your and other people's safety at risk.

  4. You understand that the installation of a fire detection system does not ensure your safety and that they are only a form of early warning systems for you to act upon.

  5. You understand that unless otherwise stated in writing, this system does not automatically contact the fire services, and it is your responsibility to do so.

  6. You understand that unless otherwise stated in writing, this system is not fire-resistant and can be destroyed in the event of a fire.

  7. You understand that the system runs on 230-volt mains electrical power and has a battery backup in the event of a power failure, but this may only last up to 24 hours and requires regular maintenance.

  8. Call-out fees apply for any electrical-related faults, as these are not controlled or maintained by Rhino Fire and Security Systems LTD.

  9. Remotely monitored systems may rely on the property's internet or phone line connection, and it is your responsibility to keep this correctly operating and maintained.

  10. Call-out fees apply for any internet or app-related faults, as these are not controlled or maintained by Rhino Fire and Security Systems LTD.

  11. Call-out fees apply to make system alterations, remove or disable components. Fees also apply for remote works.

  12. We reserve the right to down-power and condemn any unsafe system. We may report this to the relevant authorities.

7. Intruder Alarms

  1. You, the client, understand that an intruder alarm system does not prevent a break-in, and the system only acts as a detection system.

  2. Remotely monitored systems may rely on the property's internet or phone line connection, and it is your responsibility to keep this correctly operating and maintained.

  3. Call-out fees apply for any internet or app-related faults, as these are not controlled or maintained by Rhino Fire and Security Systems LTD.

  4. Regular maintenance is required to detect any faults or disconnections, and the system may not operate correctly unless otherwise maintained. It is recommended that a service or maintenance agreement be taken out.

  5. You understand that the system runs on 230-volt mains electrical power and has a battery backup in the event of a power failure, but this may only last up to 8 hours.

  6. Call-out fees apply for any electrical-related faults, as these are not controlled or maintained by Rhino Fire and Security Systems LTD.

  7. Call-out fees apply to make system alterations, remove or disable components. Fees also apply for remote works.

  8. We reserve the right to down-power and condemn any unsafe system. We may report this to the relevant authorities.

8. CCTV

  1. You understand that images or audio recorded at your property are for security purposes only.

  2. Your system runs on 230-volt mains electrical power, and in the event of a power cut, no images will be recorded unless a battery backup system is installed.

  3. Call-out fees apply for any electrical-related faults, as these are not controlled or maintained by Rhino Fire and Security Systems LTD.

  4. You understand that an Access control or gate system is designed and intended for the prevention of general access and not designed to stop break-ins, intrusion, or forced entry.

  5. You understand that if any gated system is found to be unsafe, this will be powered down immediately until rectification works can be carried out and will not be reinstated until evidence has been shown to prove the gates are now safe.

  6. Call-out fees apply to make system alterations, remove or disable components. Fees also apply for remote works.

  7. We reserve the right to down-power and condemn any unsafe system. We may report this to the relevant authorities.

15. Force Majeure

  1.
